Loxley, Ala. – Birmingham-based Buffalo Rock Company has announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art distribution facility in Loxley, representing a $10 million investment and the relocation of approximately 100 jobs to Baldwin County.

The 25,000-square-foot facility, situated on a 10-acre site, is designed to support the company’s growing customer demand across the Gulf Coast region. The project will bring 50 professional positions and 50 distribution and logistics jobs to the area, with an average annual wage of $75,000. The facility will include 10,000 square feet of office space and 15,000 square feet of warehouse space, along with eight loading docks to support efficient operations.
“Buffalo Rock’s decision to invest in Loxley speaks volumes about the strength of Baldwin County as a logistics and distribution hub,” said Lee Lawson, President and CEO of Baldwin Alliance. “This project brings a valuable mix of professional and distribution jobs, competitive wages, and long-term growth potential. It also reflects the strategic advantages our region offers, including proximity to major transportation corridors, a skilled workforce, and a business climate that supports continued expansion.”
The facility is currently under construction in partnership with Vardaman Construction and was designed with future growth in mind, offering the potential for an additional 15,000 to 30,000 square feet of expansion space, nine more loading docks, and the capacity to create up to 50 additional jobs.
“Buffalo Rock’s investment is a strong endorsement of Loxley as a premier location for industrial and logistics growth,” said Loxley Mayor, Richard Teal. “Our industrial and distribution corridor is expanding at an exponential pace, and this project not only brings high-quality jobs to our community but also reinforces Loxley’s role as a key hub for commerce along the Gulf Coast. We’re proud to welcome Buffalo Rock and look forward to supporting their continued success here.”
Over the past five years, Buffalo Rock has significantly expanded its operational footprint, adding nearly 2 million square feet of infrastructure and investing more than $300 million in facilities and automation enhancements across its footprint. The Loxley facility represents another key milestone in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
“This facility strengthens our ability to deliver legendary service to our customers every day,” said Wayne Wisdom, Senior Vice President – Chief Business Operations Officer of Buffalo Rock. “Just as important, it creates an industry‑leading environment where our Employee‑Partners can thrive, grow, and do their best work. We selected Loxley for its established industrial corridor, accessibility, and long-term strategic advantages. We’re excited to become part of this community, celebrate its growth, and work together to create opportunities that benefit our Employee-Partners, our customers, and the region for years to come.
